Kellie Martin is an American actress in television, film and stage actress. Her most famous roles include Christy Huddleston (Christy) in the period drama Christy'; Rebecca Thatcher (Life Goes On) in Life Goes On; and Lucy Knight ("ER") in the medical drama ER". In addition, she is famous as the main character on The Hailey Dean Mystery. Born to a department store owner and a kindergarten teacher, Martin was able to begin her acting career at the young age of seven, when her aunt who served as the nanny of Michael Landon's children was able to help her get a guest spot in the 1982 series "Father Murphy.". Following her graduation from Yale University, she took acting more seriously and landed important roles on the smaller and big screen. Apart from being an actor, Martin is an accomplished photographer and ballet dancer. As a mother to two children, she has become the National spokesperson for Lupus. She has actively promoted this disease ever since her younger sister passed away from the illness at age 19.
